POSITION: Communications Intern

ORGANIZATION: UN Global Compact Network USA (Network USA)

LOCATION: New York, NY (Hybrid)  

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time  

SALARY RANGE: The part-time temporary position (10 – 15 hours per week) will run for 4 months for a weekly stipend of $20/hour. The position will start in January 2026 at a date agreed upon by Network USA and the selected candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Communications Intern at Network USA, you will work with and report to the Brand & Marketing Coordinator. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with Social Media Content Development: Helping create and schedule social media posts, including graphics and captions, to enhance the organization’s online presence and engagement.
  • Create Monthly Social Media Metric Reports: Compile and analyze social media performance data each month, generating reports with key metrics, insights, and recommendations.
  • Manage Content Tracker: Update content tracker weekly to ensure social media posts and other communications include and emphasize Network USA’s value add and the business case for our programmatic offerings.
  • Update Website: Partner with Communications staff to update Network USA’s website with current news, events, and general maintenance to ensure accurate, timely content.
  • Communications Support & Messaging: Support the creation and development of communications materials and projects, collaborating with internal teams to align content with organizational objectives and messaging priorities.
  • News Monitoring: Monitor media and give regular updates to Communications teams on topics such as corporate sustainability, UN/US relations, etc.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in drafting emails, reports, and social media content for business audiences.
  • Content Creation & Digital Engagement: Proven ability to create and manage content for social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X), as well as digital materials such as blogs, newsletters, and promotional campaigns.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are effectively managed.
  • Social Media Analytics: Analytical skills to track social media performance, assess trends, and optimize strategies for increased engagement and brand awareness.
  • Design Proficiency: Competence in Canva to create engaging, visually appealing content.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, while being proactive in contributing to project success.

The Network USA office is headquartered in New York City. This position is open to remote candidates.
