As part of the 2020 UN Global Compact SDG Pioneers program, the Global Compact Network USA (GCNUSA) is searching for professionals who are committed to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Through their own company or by mobilizing other businesses, SDG Pioneers help advance one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals while also contributing to business success.

The GCNUSA will award the 2020 Global Compact Network USA SDG Pioneer at the local level. The selected individual will then have the opportunity to participate in the final search of global SDG Pioneers to be recognized during the 2020 UN General Assembly in September in New York.

FAQ

Our mission is to mobilize a global movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders to create the world we want. To end extreme poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate change, we need your company to join our global movement.

Globally and on the ground in over 60 Local Networks, the UN Global Compact guides you throughout your sustainability journey by enabling your company to operate responsibly, take bold actions, and be the voice of responsible business. We help you cut through the complexity along the way by enabling your company to build trust and transparency, achieve your sustainability objectives and help shape the world’s sustainability agenda. We have strengthened and tailored our opportunities for businesses through two distinct engagement levels to suit your company’s needs: Participant or Signatory.

Based on the your engagement tier and your annual revenues, your company will be invoiced on annual bases in the quarter in which you have designated in your UN Global Compact account or, for new joiners, in the quarter in which you joined the UN Global Compact. For participants with headquarters domiciled in the United States of America, Global Compact Network USA is the invoicing entity.

For SMEs at the Signatory Tier looking to make a contribution based on the suggested contribution amount, you may request an invoice or make a contribution via the Voluntary Contribution processing function on this website.

For non-business participants, we do not currently require a financial contribution but welcome voluntary contributions paid via the Voluntary Contribution process function on this website or via a requested invoice.

For questions related to your invoice, please contact our finance administrator at finance@globalcompactusa.org.

FAQ

  • What is the Participant Tier? Participants actively engage with the UN Global Compact at the global level, and at their national or regional level. The Participant level is ideal for leaders, but also for learners, looking to accelerate their sustainability efforts and scale up their impact across the globe. To engage as a Participant, businesses of all sizes must make a required yearly financial contribution, based on their annual gross sales or revenue.
  • What is the Signatory Tier? Signatories actively engage with the UN Global Compact at their national or regional level. At the Signatory level, businesses with revenue over USD 50 million must make a required annual financial contribution, based on their annual gross sales or revenue. The voluntary nature of financial contributions to the global initiative is preserved for smaller businesses: Signatories with annual gross sales or revenue less than USD 50 million are asked only to make a financial contribution if they wish to fully engage with the Local Network in their country.
  • What are the relative benefits for my company at each engagement tier? Please see the engagement tier one-pager for a breakdown of relative benefits.
