Managing Business Agility for the SDGs

June 04, 2020

In today’s new business ecosystem, individuals and enterprises need to be proactive, innovative and agile in response to change – be disruption from a health crisis like COVID-19 or disruption in the economy, from competitor, etc. While the natural inclination of disruption is to pivot quickly and abandon priorities, that is not always the best course. Rather, in these times, it is critical for enterprises to demonstrate is the ability to be nimble and the ability to be able to move fast. Being agile does not mean abandoning prior goals, rather it means approaching them in new ways. In this webinar, experts will share perspective on how organizations can continue to drive strategic priorities during an unanticipated crisis.

We invite you to join speakers including Sunil Prashara, President and CEO of the Project Management Institute, Ole Hansen, COO of the UN Global Compact, and a corporate leader, on this webinar on how to manage for the SDGs amidst market uncertainty and disruption.

Creating an SDG Action Plan with the SDG Action Manager

April 23, 2020

Although important progress has been made by the business community, we have a lot more work to do to achieve our vision of a better and more sustainable future for all. Not only do the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identify where we should be in 2030 to create the sustainable world we seek, but they also provide a unique chance for all sectors to rally around a common global agenda – one that unites us to take responsibility to improve people’s lives and save our planet.

Featuring speakers from the UN Global Compact and Accenture, this webinar will introduce the SDG Action Manager to enable meaningful business action through dynamic self-assessment, benchmarking, and improvement. The tool is a resource for all companies and this webinar is open to all.

Decent Work and Sustainable Procurement

April 16, 2020

Procurement teams have a key role to play in creating sustainable supply chains, but can often be disconnected from the sustainability function of the company. At the United Nations Global Compact, we recognize the need for procurement teams to be empowered to adopt sustainable practices that will impact their suppliers’ capacity to advance decent work. Companies are looking for ways to prioritize and commit to advancing decent work in their supply chains — not only to prevent reputational risks but also to significantly improve the lives of workers and lift millions out of poverty. This is further highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the critical role procurement plays both in ensuring continuity in times of crisis as well as mitigating the impacts of the crisis on stakeholders.

Featuring Mari-Lou Dupont of the UN Global Compact and Marta Cobeño of EcoVadis, this webinar will introduce the critical role of sustainable procurement in the delivery of the SDGs and will highlight featured resources from the UN Global Compact, including the Decent Work Toolkit for Sustainable Procurement, as well as practical applications from member company, EcoVadis.
